The no text rule definitely isn't there to disqualify games, the rule is there to challange the creators, probably. It's always great to see people break the rules to make a better game :). I guess this competition favors people who are looking for challange rather than those who want to make a game and experiment as they please. Hopefully we will be able to make a more balanced experience next time. If anyone have any suggestions, comments or complaints about the warmup competition we would love to hear them, albin(a)gameawards.se

... well I have discovered a bullet-prove way to know when the " mega-reactive" mode is running out ;) But I would I would not risk my highscore to tell you guys. Great game dough! almost missed work yesteday trying to beat my own rec =)

Personally, I think text should be allowed when there aren't any other good alternatives. As I understood, the point of the rule was to encourage the use of symbols and the like, not to find excuses to disqualify games. But that's me. BTW: You should add some sort of warning that the "mega-reactive" mode is running out, as it was a bit frustrating when it ended right in front of a rock :)

Ofcourse it would be great to win the competition, but as the game doesn't follow the rules, and this is my own fault for not correcting, I don't expect to win it, no argument:)

@Martin Hjerne: Oh, yeah, that probably sounded abit fishy, but I started working the game when the competition opened, but in order to make the game fun and challanging I decided to start with a score keeping track of the game's progression. I decided to ask Filip through mail if the game was breaking the rules, which it was, and found little time to come up with a replacement game-mechanic for the game not to be disqualified. Well, as you've stated, I think too that the game is good fun to play, and that's what matters:-) I'll relaunch the game on my own website, http://www.roflgames.com with more content and modes, after the competition:)

Well, I'm not sure what to think on this one. It's a really good game for starters. But then there's text in the game, and also, I'm not exactly sure how nature is striking back in this game. And then you said you didn't have the time to make the game textless, that sounds to me like you already had the game before the contest even started, and in one week you couldn't even make it textless? Like I said, I'm not sure what to think. But I guess if you happen to have a game lying around that can easily be polished to fit the theme, that's your luck, right?

Anyway, the most fun game, yes, following the theme, not so much, following the rules, definitely not. Really too bad.
Oh, and I got around 500k before giving up on the idea that there might be some kind of internet highscore. The thought of it probably made me play a few more times than I otherwise would have, though.

Thanks:) Well, I was meant to replace this version of the game with a textless one, but didn't find the time to do so. I've got the latest version on my computer, but I'm afraid it's to late now. Anyway, seems like everyone've enjoyed it this far, which is what counts:)

Well done, I like it overall, it works well and sounts great, the only thing I didn't like was how fast the speed increased, after a few seconds your only method of survival is to become Mega-Radioactive. The music fits very well, did you make it yourself? I have to ask you however, what you where thinking with the high score text, while I seem to be the only one who considers numbers to be text I don't think there's any question about "You reached your local highscore list! What is your name?" being classified as text. Anyway, great entry!

Looking at games

We don't officially go through the games until it's over. So all text and such won't be checked until Monday, after the deadline. Best of luck though. Looks like a cool game /Filip

Development Finished

The development is now finished, and I've uploaded the necessary files. Text on menu has been removed, and the game is now started by pushing any key. Looking foreward to the competition.

Yes the text "Press Enter to Launch" would break the rules unless it's the title of the game. They haven't said anything it being in text though. Perhaps they have an animation of the enter button being pressed to suggest it should be pressed to continue. It can be as simple as that. Looks cool btw :).

About change

Some persons might complain about the text "Press Enter to Launch" for breaking the rules. The game looks promising otherwise!
